Paul Tracy may be forced to miss the final ChampCar race of the season after a bizarre off track accident resulted in a broken shoulder blade.

Tracy, who is currently fighting for fourth place in the championship ahead of next weekend's final race in Mexico, suffered the injury when a golf cart fell on top of him as he and his friends used it to "jump sand traps."
Speaking to Speed TV, the Forsythe Championship Racing driver explained, "Something broke. The right front wheel fell off and the golf cart tipped over. It fell on top of me and threw everybody else clear.
"You don't have to tell me, it was dumb."
Tracy will now have to wait to see how his right scapula heals over the next week before a decision is made as to whether he can compete.
"It hurts pretty bad, but I'm getting some treatment and I think I'll be able to qualify and at least start the race.
"If I can get my motion back I should be alright. There's only a couple of left-hand corners and everything else is right-handers, so I'll be using my left arm a lot more."
Forsythe Racing could look a different team in Mexico City. On Friday it was confirmed that AJ Allmendinger had been sacked and would not compete in the season closer. He's being replaced by Buddy Rice. Now it appears Tracy might not make it either.
