THAT'S ALL FOR DAY TWO...

We will see you again tomorrow to see if England can pull off the impossible on Day Three.

STUMPS: India 186-6 (Harmanpreet 44, Vastrakar 17) Overs: 41, Lead: 478

A lovely cover drive from Vastrakar brings up the fifty partnership between these two, only the third of the day. And that is the end of a big day of cricket. Dean can be proud of her day finishing with 4-68 off 19 overs.

India 181-6 (Harmanpreet 44, Vastrakar 12) Overs: 41, Lead: 473

It is not really needed now but Vastrakar has shown a very tidy Test technique.

India 179-6 (Harmanpreet 43, Vastrakar 11) Overs: 40, Lead: 471

Another four sees Harmanpreet close in on her first Test half-century after the bizarre first-innings dismissal saw her fall just short.

India 172-6 (Harmanpreet 36, Vastrakar 11) Overs: 39, Lead: 464

Ecclestone went upstairs for an appeal for leg before against Vastrakar but there was a slight inside edge.

Just the two runs off Dean's over which make the Indian skipper the top scorer in this innings.

India 168-6 (Harmanpreet 33, Vastrakar 10) Overs: 37, Lead: 460

A late cut just wide of Knight at slip secures a boundary for Harmanpreet and then she powers Ecclestone between deep mid-wicket and long on.

India 159-6 (Harmanpreet 24, Vastrakar 10) Overs: 36, Lead: 451

Three singles off the over and India's lead is now over 451.

India 156-6 (Harmanpreet 22, Vastrakar 9) Overs: 35, Lead: 448

The Indian skipper finally loosens the shackles, hitting two successive fours.

India 147-6 (Harmanpreet 13, Vastrakar 9) Overs: 34, Lead: 439

Vastrakar smacks another four down the ground after Dean looped a ball too full.

India 140-6 (Harmanpreet 11, Vastrakar 4) Overs: 33, Lead: 432

Vastrakar gets off the mark cutting a short ball through the off side for four.

India 135-6 (Harmanpreet 10, Vastrakar 0) Overs: 32, Lead: 427

A third maiden in succession. Do the sides just agree to come back tomorrow now? The penultimate ball caused Vastrakar problem with an arm ball.

India 135-6 (Harmanpreet 10, Vastrakar 0) Overs: 31, Lead: 427

A second straight maiden, this is very unbecoming of today's play. The shadows are creeping in now. We will not get close to completing the remaining 20 overs.

India 135-6 (Harmanpreet 10, Vastrakar 0) Overs: 30, Lead: 427

A maiden for Dean. Vastrakar batting in a similar vein to her skipper.

India 135-6 (Harmanpreet 10, Vastrakar 0) Overs: 29, Lead: 427

The Indian skipper not being tempted to play the way her team-mates are. Good old-fashioned cricket from her - 10 off 29 balls.

India 133-6 (Harmanpreet 8, Vastrakar 0) Overs: 28, Lead: 425

Dean loses her line and Vastrakar lets the ball go to avoid going first ball.

India 133-6 (Rana b Dean 0) Overs: 27.5, Lead: 425

A golden duck for Rana as Dean bowls a perfect off spinner turning in and smashing into the middle stump. She is now on a hat-trick...

India 133-5 (Deepti lbw b Dean 20) Overs: 27.4, Lead: 425

Another entertaining Indian knock comes to an end. The umpire gave not out but Knight eventually went upstairs and the decision is out.

India 129-4 (Harmanpreet 8, Deepti 16) Overs: 27, Lead: 421

India very comfortably scoring at around a run-a-ball at present.

India 124-4 (Harmanpreet 5, Deepti 14) Overs: 26, Lead: 416

Dean finds Deepti's edge but it flies wide of Knight at slip. Another boundary just adds to English despair.

Filer comes onto bowl for the first time in the innings and like most Indian batters Deepti gets off the mark early with a boundary.

India 109-4 (Harmanpreet 4, Deepti 0) Overs: 24, Lead: 401

Bowling hero Deepti joins her skipper in the middle.

India 109-4 (Jemimah c Beaumont b Dean 27) Overs: 23.5, Lead: 401

Jemimah is furious, after a good-looking four brings up the 400-lead, Dean gets some extra bounce from the surface and snares an inside-edge - and a third catch of the innings for Beaumont.

India 105-3 (Jemimah 23, Harmanpreet 4) Overs: 23, Lead: 397

Jemimah brings up the 100 with a firm push through the off side. It really is a gruesome wicket to keep on, with Jones helpless to stop another couple of byes, which would have gone for more had Knight got a shin on the ball.

India 96-3 (Jemimah 16, Harmanpreet 4) Overs: 22, Lead: 388

A maiden over for Dean. Little wins. You have to take them where you can.

India 96-3 (Jemimah 16, Harmanpreet 4) Overs: 21, Lead: 388

For the second time in the game Jemimah gets hit in the head, this time missing a sweep from Ecclestone and being caught on the grill. The next ball she smashes a sweep square for four.

India 83-3 (Jemimah 6, Harmanpreet 1) Overs: 18, Lead: 375

The Indian skipper joins Jemimah at the crease.

India 77-3 (Yastika c Beaumont b Ecclestone 9) Overs: 16.3, Lead: 369

An unplayable delivery sees Beaumont snare another at short leg. This one exploded on a length catching Yastika's gloves after it rose sharply.

India 77-2 (Yastika 9, Jemimah 5) Overs: 16, Lead: 369

Like Yastika before here, Jemimah starts with intent sweeping for four, but then is not far away from presenting a catch to Beaumont at short leg.

India 71-2 (Shafali c Ecclestone b Dean 33) Overs: 15.1, Lead: 363

She looks to hit Dean over the top but only manages to hole out to the safe hands of Ecclestone at long on.

India 71-1 (Shafali 33, Yastika 8) Overs: 15, Lead: 363

Just a couple of singles off Ecclestone's over.

India 69-1 (Shafali 32, Yastika 7) Overs: 14, Lead: 361

Yastika sweeps the first ball for a boundary, but she is lucky her inside edge from Dean's last ball didn't hit her stumps.

India 62-1 (Shafali 31, Yastika 1) Overs: 13, Lead: 354

Yastika Bhatia joins Shafali at the crease and is off the mark first ball.

India 61-1 (Mandhana c Beaumont b Ecclestone 26) Overs 12.5, Lead 353

Mandhana had been starved of the strike a bit and she pushes a little hard at a defensive prod and, with the extra bounce, Ecclestone has her caught at short leg. Now we have a drinks break.

India 61-0 (Shafali 31, Mandhana 26) Overs: 12.4, Lead: 353

For the second time Ecclestone comes onto bowl and is hit for six. This time Shafali smacks her straight down the ground. It moves the lead past 350.

India 52-0 (Shafali 22, Mandhana 26) Overs: 12, Lead: 344

Shafali dropped. She clips Dean through mid wicket but Dunkley just can't hold onto the ball stooping to her right. Demoralising times for the England bowlers.

India 50-0 (Shafali 21, Mandhana 25) Overs: 11, Lead: 342

The half-century is on the board for India in their second innings off 66 balls.

India 48-0 (Shafali 20, Mandhana 24) Overs: 10, Lead: 340

India 47-0 (Shafali 19, Mandhana 24) Overs: 9, Lead: 339

Shafali with a fine off drive through the covers for four. It looks like India are batting on a different strip.

Four byes at the end ruin a tight over from Dean.

India 34-0 (Shafali 13, Mandhana 21) Overs: 7, Lead: 326

Cross is given a chance with the bowl and she has Shafali out leg before, but it is appealed and replays show it heading down leg side.

India 31-0 (Shafali 11, Mandhana 20) Overs: 6, Lead: 323

Dean comes on to bowl and after an appeal first up, she is smacked over long on for six.

India 25-0 (Shafali 5, Mandhana 20) Overs: 5, Lead: 317

Shafali gets off the mark with a boundary down to the vacant third man region.

India 20-0 (Shafali 0, Mandhana 20) Overs: 4, Lead: 312

Mandhana with a perfect cover drive for four, then rocks on the back foot for square drive to the point boundary.

India 12-0 (Shafali 0, Mandhana 12) Overs: 3, Lead: 304

Shafali dropped! Bell finds her edge but England skipper Knight grasses the catch. Another nick falls short of Ecclestone.

India 11-0 (Shafali 0, Mandhana 11) Overs: 2, Lead: 303

Ecclestone takes the new ball at the other end and her first ball is whacked out over wide long on for a six. A miss-field from Wyatt gifts Mandhana another boundary. And the lead is now over 300.

India 0-0 (Shafali 0, Mandhana 0) Overs: 1, Lead: 292

Bell bowls a maiden over

0838 - Back underway

India neglected to enforced the follow-on and are batting again. Bell has the new ball from England.

0830 - They have taken an early tea

It appears India will bat again and not enforce the follow on but we are awaiting official confirmation.

0825 - We now wait to see if India will enforce the follow on.

England 136 all out (Filer b Deepti 5) Overs 35.3

Filer anticipating turn which was not there and Deepti ends the innings with a magnificent 5-7 - her first Test wicket five-for. Rana took 2-25 including the key dismissal of Sciver-Brunt who was the only batter to surpass 20.

England 136-9 (Filer 5, Bell 0) Overs 35

Just the single off Gayakwad's over. You get the feeling they brought her on to get her a wicket here.

England 135-9 (Filer 4, Bell 0) Overs: 34

These last two will surely just have some fun now. They won't be able to hold out against the spinners for long.

England 135-9 (Cross c and b Deepti 1) Overs: 33.4

The end is nigh. Deepti tosses the ball up and Cross hits straight back to her.

England 135-8 (Cross 1, Filer 4) Overs: 33

Filer shows some intent smashing her second ball down the ground for four.

England 131-8 (Dean lbw b Rana 0) Overs: 32.4

Charlie Dean plays no shot to a ball spinning towards her from Rana and the ball strikes her leg. The umpire gives not out but India appeal and the eighth wicket falls.

England 130-7 (Dean 0, Cross 0) Overs: 32

A maiden over for Verma. The England camp look shell-shocked.

England 130-7 (Dean 0, Cross 0) Overs: 31

England in a world of trouble here. You have to think this may well be a rare time when a follow-on is enforced.

England 130-7 (Sciver-Brunt b Rana 59) Overs: 30.3

A wickedly-turning delivery sees the ball come from well outside off stump to crash the timber of England's top batter's off stump.

England 126-6 (Ecclestone b Deepti 0) Overs: 30

What a spell from Deepti the ball turns and keeps low and the England batter cannot get her bat down in time.

England 126-5 (Jones c Verma b Deepti 12) Overs: 29.4

A freak dismissal as Jones crashes a ball which smacks the helmet of Jemimah at short leg and then flies to Verma at short fine leg.

England 126-4 (Sciver-Brunt 55, Jones 12) Overs: 29

Rana comes back onto bowl and is immediately smashed through the covers by Jones and drags another down the leg side which the England batter helps to the boundary.

England 117-4 (Sciver-Brunt 55, Jones 3) Overs: 28

Sciver-Brunt crashes a sweep through the leg side for another boundary. And now play will pause for a drinks break.

England 110-4 (Sciver-Brunt 50, Jones 1) Overs: 27

Sciver-Brunt reaches her fourth consecutive fifty. It was a muted celebration, she really wants to turn this into a century. Jones also gets off the mark with a push through the covers.

England 108-4 (Sciver-Brunt 49, Jones 0) Overs: 26

Amy Jones joins Sciver-Brunt in the middle and really needs to stay with her for most of this session of England are to get out of this hole.

England 108-4 (Wyatt c Jemimah b Deepti 19) Overs: 25.2

Deepti comes on to bowl for the first time and has Wyatt caught at short leg from a tossed-up turning delivery which clipped bat and pad then flew straight into the arms of Jemimah.

England 108-3 (Sciver-Brunt 49, Wyatt 19) Overs: 25

England reach the 100-mark in the 25th over as Wyatt rocks back and crashes the ball through the covers. She also times an on drive well to crash past mid on for another boundary. Nothing wrong with the run-rate but Sciver-Brunt will need real support if they are to get past the first target of 278 to avoid the follow on.

England 99-3 (Sciver-Brunt 49, Wyatt 10) Overs: 24

Two twos, the second an unconvincing toe-end through the slips gets Sciver-Brunt and England close to milestones.

England 95-3 (Sciver-Brunt 45, Wyatt 10) Overs: 23

A better boundary from Wyatt. Vastrakar over pitches a little and she pushes through the covers for four. She is then given out leg before but replays show she got an inside edge on the delivery, so after she sent it upstairs the call was overturned.

England 89-3 (Sciver-Brunt 44, Wyatt 5) Overs: 22

It doesn't look an easy pitch to keep on. As a Renuka delivery swung, seamed then dipped down the leg side, Bhatia couldn't stop the ball going for four byes. Then the last ball kept low and Wyatt edged between her legs.

England 83-3 (Sciver-Brunt 43, Wyatt 4) Overs: 21

Dicey from Danni! In two or three minds she guides a ball just over the slips and it runs away for four. It almost looked like a batting coach giving catching practice.

England 79-3 (Sciver-Brunt 43, Wyatt 0) Overs: 20

A very good over from Renuka with even Sciver-Brunt into a more circumspect batting mode.

England 79-3 (Sciver-Brunt 43, Wyatt 0) Overs: 19

Danni Wyatt joins Sciver-Brunt in the middle.

England 79-3 (Beaumont run out 10) Overs: 18.5

Sciver-Brunt's 8th four, a punch through the leg side, brings up the 50 partnership of 66 balls, but then Beaumont is just short diving for a quick single after a fantastic direct hit from Vastrakar.

England 75-2 (Beaumont 10, Sciver-Brunt 39) Overs: 18

Sciver-Brunt edges Renuka a fraction short of slip. What a big moment that could have been.

England 72-2 (Beaumont 10, Sciver-Brunt 36) Overs: 17

Slow left-armer Rajeshwari resumes her spell after lunch and is clipped over the top by Beaumont who gets into double figures off her 30th ball.

0640 Second session to begin shortly...

India 428 all out, England 67-2 (Beaumont 6, Brunt 35) Overs: 16

It started very well with Sophie Ecclestone wrapping up the tail with two wickets as India added just 18 to their overnight score, but India picked up key early wickets as both Sophia Dunkley and Heather Knight were undone by seam movement off the surface.
Renuka Singh bowled the England opener and then Pooja Vastakar trapped the England skipper leg before. Tammy Beaumont was also lucky to avoid a leg before decision to Vastrakar.
The shining light for England is Nat Sciver-Brunt, who looks in total control dominating the bowling on her way to an unbeaten run-a-ball 35.
