Younis Khan and Asad Shafiq steered Pakistan to a draw in the second Test against New Zealand in Dubai after a top order collapse in the second innings.
Younis (44) and Shafiq (41 not out) saw Pakistan to 196 for five in their pursuit of the 261 target set by Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum.
Trent Boult claimed two wickets for 12 runs from 10 overs to be the pick of the New Zealand attack in the second innings.
Pakistan had looked to be stumbling towards defeat when they were reduced to 75 for four following the departure of Misbah-ul-Haq for a five-ball duck in the 32nd over.
Boult removed Shan Masood (40) and Misbah, while Tim Southee accounted for Taufeeq Umar (four) while Azhar Ali (24) and Khan were dismissed by Mark Craig (two for 66).
New Zealand had set the competitive target after McCullum declared on 250 for nine in the 65th over when Southee was caught by Ali off the bowling of Zulfiqar Babar for 20.
The draw follows on from Pakistan's comprehensive 248-run win in the first Test, with the third and final Test set to begin on November 26 in Sharjah.
