Alexey Poltoranin tied the legendary Gunde Svan for the most 15km classic cross country World Cup wins in history with victory in Slovenia today.
The 30-year-old, from Kazakhstan, claimed his second 15km win of 2017-18 season in Planica and his seventh overall, placing him level with Swedish former Olympic champion Svan.
He got the better of overall cross country World Cup leader Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo and Sweden's Calle Halfvarsson to top the podium.
"I am really happy to win. This is a good course for me and I had very good skis, and want to say thank you to my service team," said Poltoranin.
Poltoranin crossed the line in 36:54.7 to take gold whilst Norway's Klaebo, who has won three distance races this season, finished 13.2 seconds behind in 37:07.9.
Halfvarsson, of Sweden, completed the podium as he clocked in at 37:37.5.
Norway's Emil Iversen (37:49.4), Russia's Ivan Kirillov (37:51.2) and Russian skier Stanislav Volzhentsev (37:52.5) made up the rest of the top six.
