Svahn wins Tour de Ski sprint in Davos ahead of Skistad

Linn Svahn claimed her second FIS Cross-Country World Cup sprint victory in a row with a dominant performance in Davos in the fourth stage of the Tour de Ski.
Svahn finished ahead 1.30 seconds ahead of Kristine Stavaas Skistad with overall World Cup leader Jessie Diggins completing the podium in third.
Svahn led from the front in Switzerland, winning both her quarter-final and semi-final before powering ahead in the final to clinch a victory that sees the Swede extend her lead at the top of the World Cup sprint standings ahead of Skistad and compatriot Emma Ribom.
Diggins had posted the fastest time of the day in her semi-final but was unable to match her time of 2:30.36 in the final and was forced to settle for bronze but the American retains her overall lead in the Tour de Ski.
The men's race was won by Lucas Chanavat, who finished 0.25 seconds ahead of Edvin Anger, with Italy's Federico Pellegrino in third.
Chanavat could not match his fastest time of 2:14.90 in the final but had enough to hold off Anger and Pellegrino, with the pair a comfortable two seconds ahead of the chasing pack in the final.

Chanavat pips Anger to sprint win in Davos

"It was a tough final, but I had a good feeling," Chanavat told Eurosport.
"I pushed hard when Havard [Solas Taugbol] attacked on the second loop, I just wanted to stay in front...then I was giving it my all so I could have as big a gap at the end to make it safe."
