Elisa Balsamo wins Stage 5 of La Madrid Challenge as Annemiek Van Vleuten collects overall win

Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar) took the overall victory at La Madrid Challenge 2022. The final stage entailed 17 laps of Madrid that culminated in Elisa Longo-Borghini leading out her Trek–Segafredo team-mate Elisa Balsamo to seal victory in the rainbow jersey. Lotte Kopecky (Team SD Worx) finished second on the day and Marta Bastianelli (UAE Team ADQ) third.
