Dumoulin wins opener

The Cofidis rider pipped Italy's Rinaldo Nocentini on the line at the end of the 169km stage from La Croix Valmer to Grimaud.

Dumoulin's compatriot Thomas Voeckler (Team Europcar) took third place.

The second and final stage of the race will take place on Sunday on a 207km course beginning and ending in Draguignan.
