European Championships 2018: Laura Kenny gunning for three golds in Glasgow

Kenny is entered in team pursuit, elimination race and madison, with husband Jason also set to compete.

The 26-year-old returned at the Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, in February after giving birth to son Albie last year.

She will be joined by Katie Archibald, Elinor Barker and Ellie Dickinson in the team pursuit, with Archibald also set to partner her in the madison.

Meanwhile, Jason Kenny – GB’s joint-most successful Olympian with six gold medals – will look to set up his comeback in the men’s team sprint.

He initially quit the sport following the Rio Olympics citing a lack of motivation, but made his return earlier this year as he sets his sights on making the team for Tokyo 2020.

Three-time Olympic champion Ed Clancy withdrew last week but British Cycling still have a stellar line-up for the European Championships – a new multi-sport format combining existing continental competitions in athletics, aquatics, cycling, golf, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon.

It will be screened LIVE on Eurosport and Eurosport Player from August 2-12, with the track cycling scheduled from August 3-9.
