Tim Merlier (Soudal Quick-Step) will still be basking in the unexpected glory of his thrilling and dramatic sprint victory on Stage 18 of the Giro d'Italia as he pipped Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) to the line when the riders set about taking on the route to Sappada on Stage 19. The general classification leader is well clear in the standings and just needs to survive three more days to leave Italy draped in pink - something he will surely now do.
Stage 19 sees the riders negotiate the 157km route from Mortegliano to Sappada with climbs at Passo Duron, Sella Valcalda and Cima Sappada.
