Hepburn wins stage three

The 20-year-old Hepburn, who claimed the prologue on Sunday, continued in his fine run of form through the 166.5km stage from Gerardmer to the Swiss area of Porrentruy.

The Aussie was the fastest in a leading group of seven, beating Spain's Jordi Simon, who finished second, and Denmark's Christopher Juul-Jensen in third.

21-year-old Boilly is now the leader in the general classification, taking over from Australia's Rohan Dennis.

The Tour de l'Avenir is an eight-day race for national teams dubbed the "Tour of the Future" for U23 Tour de France prospects.

Felice Gimondi, Joop Zoetemelk, Greg Lemond, Miguel Indurain and Laurent Fignonall are all previous winners of the Tour de l'Avenir in the past who went on to win 12 Tour de France titles between them.
