The final Monument of the 2023 season, Il Lombardia, arrives on Saturday as Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic compete for one of the biggest titles in cycling. Two-time champion Pogacar is without a win since the penultimate stage of the Tour de France, having seen Roglic comfortably outsprint him to win the recent Giro dell'Emilia. So how can you watch Il Lombardia?

'Back with a bang!' - Roglic sprints away from Pogacar to take Giro dell'Emilia victory

The curtain is about to fall on a thrilling cycling season that has seen Jumbo-Visma sweep the Grand Tours, Tadej Pogacar triumph on the Flanders cobbles and Mathieu van der Poel claim his first senior rainbow jersey on the road.
The last major race of 2023 sees the peloton tackle the so-called Race of the Falling Leaves, Il Lombardia, as a trio of big-hitters arrive hoping to add a Monument to their palmarès.
So when is the race? How can you watch on TV and livestream? And who are the favourites? Let's take a look...

Now, on with the show...

When is Il Lombardia 2023?

The fifth and final Monument of the season takes place on Saturday, October 7. There is no women’s edition of Il Lombardia.

How can I watch Il Lombardia 2023?

Coverage begins at 09:10 UK time on Eurosport 2, while you can watch ad-free on discovery+ and eurosport.com. The riders are expected at the finish in Bergamo between 15:39 and 16:25, depending on the pace.

Who is riding Il Lombardia 2023?

It's a stacked field, with Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) and Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) the headline acts.
It will be the first time Evenepoel has ridden the Monument since his horror crash at the race in 2020, when he fractured his pelvis and bruised lung after falling into a ravine.
The Belgian is set for a rare showdown with Pogacar, who has won the last two editions of Il Lombardia. The pair were the runaway favourites for Liege-Bastogne-Liege in April, but Pogacar fractured his wrist in a crash as Evenepoel went on to defend his crown.
Roglic and Pogacar are also out for Slovenian bragging rights after the former won their recent sprint tear-up at the Giro dell'Emilia. It is likely to be Roglic's last outing in Jumbo-Visma colours before leaving the team for 2024.
Aside from the three giants of men's cycling, last year's runner-up Enric Mas (Movistar) will hope to be involved again while Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) could stake a claim for a place on the podium.
