Slovenian Luka Pibernik won stage six of the Eneco Tour as Rohan Dennis retained the overall lead ahead of the final day of the competition.
Team Lampre Merida rider Pibernik was part of the early breakaway group and held off the peloton to claim victory in the 197.2km Riemst to Lanaken route on Saturday.
Britain's Mark McNally (Wanty - Groupe Gobert) finished closely behind in second, with Bert Van Lerberghe (Topsport Vlaanderen - Baloise) third, Alexis Gougeard (AG2R La Mondiale) fourth and Chad Haga (Team Giant - Alpecin) completing the top five.
Winner Pibernik told sport.be: "This is a great victory. The team leader said I should go in the attack today. That's what I did with just one goal; make it to the finish as fast as possible.
"It doesn't happen often that the breakaway manages to go all the way, but with one kilometre to go I figured we would make it. Then I saved my energy, chose the wheel of Gougeard and gave everything I had with 200 metres to go."
In the overall standings, Australian Dennis (BMC Racing) leads team-mate Taylor Phinney by 16 seconds,
Etixx QuickStep's Taylor Martin is a further eight seconds behind in third, with Peter Sagan (Tinkoff) and Niki Terpstra (Etixx QuickStep) both 27 seconds off the lead.
Dennis said: "Our plan worked perfectly. We could let the breakway go and it was important that Peter Sagan didn't take any seconds in the Golden Kilometre."
The competition finishes with the 197.8km Bornem to Geraardsbergen stage on Sunday.
