Tony Gallopin solos to stage six win, snatches overall lead

Tony Gallopin seized the overall lead at Paris-Nice as he soloed to victory on stage six ahead of Sunday’s finale.

The Lotto Soudal rider attacked with 30 kilometres remaining and navigated a sodden course to win by 32 seconds.
Team Katusha’s Simon Spilak and Lampre-Merida’s Rui Costa finished second and third respectively.
Australia's Richie Porte (Team Sky) was hampered by a crash, but he recovered to finish one minute behind Gallopin and climb into second in the general classification – 36 seconds adrift of the Frenchman.
Just six seconds separate Porte, Michal Kwiatkowski (third), Geraint Thomas (fourth), Jakob Fuglsang (fifth) and Costa (sixth) in the overall standings.
The race finishes with a 9.6km time trial.
