Stage 3 of the Tirreno-Adriatico certainly delivered, as Phil Bauhaus came out on top amidst the mayhem to take the win. It was a very tightly contested race, with the Bahrain Victorious rider emerging unscathed from the uphill finish, topping a podium that also included Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) and Kevin Vauquelin (Arkea-B&B) in second and third places, respectively.

Phil Bauhaus claimed a stage 3 victory at the Tirreno-Adriatico after a gripping finale which saw Jasper Philipsen suffer a crash in a chaotic end to the race.
This was the longest stage of the race, as the riders took the gruelling 225km route from Volterra to Gualdo Taldino in the challenging chilly and changeable weather conditions.
Philipsen secured the stage 2 victory on Tuesday, and was within touching distance of claiming another win, only to crash late on and allow Bauhaus to capitalise.
The podium was comprised of Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) in second and Kevin Vauquelin (Arkea-B&B) in third.
Speaking after the stage, Bauhaus admitted he thought victory may have been beyond him, in quotes published by Cycling Weekly.
"To be honest, no. When I checked the profile, I was thinking it was pretty much on the limit for me," he replied, when asked if he thought victory was possible.
"I was suffering, of course, on the last climb, but the team believed in me the whole day and yesterday evening they said it was a good chance for me.
"Into the last kilometre, I was in perfect position then I luckily had the legs to do a good sprint and I'm super happy to have my first win this year."
