Stage 15 : Vaison-la-Romaine - Les-Deux-Alpes

After a rest day to recover from the Mont-Ventoux, riders begin stage 15--the longest of the 2002 Tour--at 10.15cet in the town of Vaison-la-Romaine. Travelling east across the mountains of Haute Provence, riders encounter no less than seven climbs. After 68.5 km, the Col de Prémol is the first big ascent of the day. The Col de Grimone is next, followed by the Col de la Croix-Haute. Two more category-3 climbs follow and finally riders dip into their reserve energy to clear Les Deux-Alpes.
