20-year-old Kevin Reynolds landed a couple of sensational quadruple jumps to smash two world records at Skate Canada International on Friday.

The rising Canadian star became the first skater in the history of International Skating Union history to complete quadruple jump in the two-minute 45 second short program, taking full advantage of the new ISU rules allowing skaters to attempt quad jumps.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to land the second quad," said a jubilant Reynolds. "It's the first time I've done it in a major competition.
"Obviously, it's very risky to do two quads in the short program. To be able to do two quads is a great opportunity for me."
However, despite landing both attempts - and thus becoming the only skater to ever land two quads in the short program - Reynolds's score of 80.09 was only good enough for second place in men's short program, with the world number four Nobunari Oda's 81.37 enough to secure the top spot.
US star Adam Rippon took third place with 77.53 points - all the more impressive given that the 20-year-old suffered severe bruising after an accident in training on Friday morning.
Local hero and defending world silver medallist Patrick Chan finished a disappointing fourth-place, falling three-times on his way to 73.20 points.
"I have no idea what happened," Chan said. "It's a combination of everything. When I missed the quad, I started to doubt myself. It's a lack of experience. It's part of the learning process and I'm at the bottom and must work my way up."
Canadian Cynthia Phaneuf gave the crowd something to cheer about in the women's short program, topping the scores with an impressive 58.24 points and giving herself a strong chance of getting a medal on Saturday.
Russia's Ksenia Makarova finished second with 57.90 points, and Agnes Zawadzki of the US placed third with 56.29.
Russia's Lubov Iliushechkina and Nodari Maisuradze won the pairs' short program, with 60.72 points.
Saturday will see the conclusion of the men's, women's, and pairs' events, when the skaters take to the ice for their free programs.
