Uniserv Moto 82 Team is ready to take on its latest challenge when it steps up to the FIM Endurance World Championship from next week’s 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans (13-16 April).
Based in Czech Republic, the Kawasaki-powered squad has entered the Dunlop-equipped Superstock category, making it eligible for the FIM Endurance World Cup, which is contested over the EWC’s three European-based 24-hour races.
The Uniserv Moto 82 Team line-up features a trio of Czech riders: Kamil Holán, Martin Vašulín and Karel Pešek Jr, who finished third among the Superstock contingent in the 6 Hours of Most in October 2021 and won the STK1000 class in the Alpe Adria International Motorcycle Championship last season.
Holán, meanwhile, brings experience from some of the most challenging motorcycle races including Isle of Man TT, Daytona 200, Macau Grand Prix, Pikes Peak and the Northern Ireland-based North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix, while Vašulín switched to motorcycle racing in 2016 following extensive success in motocross.
“The FIM Endurance World Championship gains year by year in reputation and prestige and there is a huge interest in it not only by fans, but also by riders,” said Karel Pešek Sr, who heads up the Uniserv Moto 82 Team and performed a key role in its formation and development.
Formed in 2005 and with title sponsorship from Kazakhstan-based Uniserv, the Prague outfit has a clear target for 2023. “Our prime target for this season is to get experience in the EWC,” said Pešek Sr. “Nevertheless, we will try to fight for the best possible result. Our riders have trained both physically and mentally, while our mechanics have prepared our racing motorcycles to a very high standard.”
Pešek Sr continued: “We put our team together with people who are motorcycle enthusiasts but, above all, our buddies. Therefore, we would like to express to them and our families our deepest thank you. Without these people it would be not possible to realise this project. The 24 Heures Motos will be a big challenge, but we will do our best to be successful.
“While our Team Manager, Gerard Josek, has a lot of experiences in motorsport, and he is our long-time friend, every team member is crucial, everyone has their own power and position, and this establishes the basis for the performance of the whole team.
“We are proud of how we have managed to put together people from different countries, because our team consists of Czech people and French people and we race with a Kazakh licence.”
In addition to Uniserv, the Uniserv Moto 82 Team is also supported by Bonavita, Nokamoto, F-Moto, Vágner sport/RST, EP-SC, Kawasaki Modřice, AMFK federace, RP Tunning, Sebimoto and PP tunning.
Following the 24 Heures Motos, the FIM Endurance World Cup continues at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium with the second running of the 24H SPA EWC Motos (16-18 June), followed by the Bol d’Or at Circuit Paul Ricard from 14-17 September.
