As of 11pm, GMT94 Yamaha still has a one-lap lead over F.C.C. TSR Honda France and is two laps ahead of Suzuki Endurance Racing Team. The Yamaha squad has already gained an advantage with the 10 extra points awarded to the team in the lead 8 hours into the race.
At the 8-hour mark, having kept the lead for 209 of the 279 laps covered since the start of the race, GMT94 Yamaha is firmly in charge of the proceedings at the 24 Heures Motos. After the crash that forced the withdrawal of YART Yamaha, the team with which it waged a lengthy battle, GMT94 Yamaha is now holding off F.C.C. TSR Honda France and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team.
Tecmas BMW has stayed close behind the leading trio, ahead of another BMW – the Mercury Racing bike – and Bolliger Team Switzerland’s Kawasaki.
In 7th place, Team SRC Kawasaki are doing a steady climb back up after a crash early on in the race. At 11pm, they were ahead of Maco Racing Team, Wepol Racing by Penz13 and Moto Ain (10th in the overall standings at 11pm, and leader of the Superstock class).
All these teams have picked up the extra points awarded to the top 10 teams 8 hours into the race.
