As of 7am, Team SRC Kawasaki France are holding on to the 24 Heures Motos lead, with Honda Endurance Racing and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team in hot pursuit. Motors Events, now lapping 7th, have firmed up their status as top Superstock.
There was no change to the lead scenario overnight at Le Mans. Team SRC Kawasaki France have kept their rivals at bay since the 4th hour of the race. 16 hours in, Kawasaki’s Jérémy Guarnoni, David Checa and Erwan Nigon are still in command, though locked in fierce battle with Honda Endurance Racing’s Sébastien Gimbert, Yonny Hernández and Randy de Puniet and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team’s Vincent Philippe, Etienne Masson and Gregg Black. The three squads, all practically in the same lap, are keeping up a cracking pace with another 8 hours to go in the race.
Behind this blistering trio, Wepol Racing (Sheridan Morais, Daniel Webb and Michael Laverty) are 4 laps from the leader. Bolliger Team Switzerland (Roman Stamm, Sébastien Suchet and Nigel Walraven) are 7 laps behind, with National Motos (Emeric Jonchière, Stéphane Egea and Baptiste Guittet), who started from 25th on the grid, 11 laps behind.
Motors Events (James Westmoreland, Johan Nigon and Adrien Ganfornina) are still the fastest Superstock team, currently in 7th place ahead of F.C.C. TSR Honda France (Josh Hook, Freddy Foray and Mike Di Meglio), who climbed back up from the bottom of the rankings after crashing early on, and 3ART Moto Team95 (Morgan Berchet, Mathieu Lussiana and Alex Plancassagne). Tailing Motors Events for the runner-up spots on the Superstock podium are Moto Ain and Team 33 Coyote Louit Moto.
VRD Igol Pierret Expériences too are climbing back up after three crashes, and have reached 23rd place. YART Yamaha were among the leading four for a good while, but threw in the towel shortly after 1am because of engine failure, like Team ERC-BMW Motorrad Endurance and GERT56 by GS Yuasa, the Superstock leader early on.
In all 13 squads have withdrawn as of 7am, including Mototech EWC Team, No Limits Motor Team and JMA Motos Action Bike.
