Moto Ain was seventh past the finish line at the 24 Heures Motos, and also stood on the second step of the Superstock podium. Roberto Rolfo, Alexis Masbou and Christoffer Bergman carried off the Dunlop Independent Trophy ahead of Tati Team Beaujolais Racing, the trophy winner at the Bol d’Or, and Team R2CL.
After starting from 14th place on the grid, Moto Ain had to deal with a number of minor technical issues. Roberto Rolfo, Alexis Masbou and Christoffer Bergman did what was needed to keep Moto Ain’s Yamaha in the leading group, and picked up the €5,000 prize awarded to the winner of the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy.
Tati Team Beaujolais Racing is once again in the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy Top 3 after its success at the Bol d’Or. Despite dropping to 55th place in the first hour of the race following a crash and then being slowed down by an electrical problem with their Kawasaki, riders Julien Enjolras, Julien Pilot and Kevin Denis never gave up. Their determination won them 11th place at the finish and a €4,200 prize.
Team R2CL also got slowed down by a crash on Saturday afternoon, which caused them to drop back to beyond 30th place. Anthony Loiseau, Clinton Seller and Gwen Giabbani managed to get the Suzuki R2CL back up to 12th place by the finish and won themselves €3,700 of prize money with the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy.
Renewed this season by FIM EWC promoter Eurosport Events, the organizers of individual FIM EWC races, and tyre manufacturer Dunlop, the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy gives backing to Dunlop-shod private teams that do not benefit from direct support from a constructor. At the 24 Heures Motos, the EWC Dunlop Independent Trophy awarded prize money to the 15 best participating teams.
