Cristiano Ronaldo faces familiar competition for the FIFA Puskas Award, with former Real Madrid team-mate Gareth Bale also in the running.

The pair scored stunning acrobatic efforts in last season’s Champions League: Ronaldo versus current employers Juventus in the last eight and Bale against Liverpool in the final.

Lionel Messi may have been snubbed for the main individual award, but he at least earns a Puskas nomination for his goal against Nigeria in the World Cup.

Mohamed Salah is also amongst the 10-strong nomination list for his mazy dribble against Everton, while World Cup stunners from Benjamin Pavard, Denis Cheryshev and Ricardo Quaresma also feature.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on September 24.
