Ghana will be searching for a new head coach after dismissing Chris Hughton. The former Newcastle United and Brighton boss has been sacked following Ghana's group-stage exit at the Africa Cup of Nations. Hughton took charge of Ghana in February 2023. The Black Stars were eliminated from AFCON after failing to win any of their three group games at the tournament.

Chris Hughton has been sacked as Ghana head coach following the team’s group-stage exit at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana were officially knocked out of the tournament on Tuesday after results from other groups failed to go in their favour.
They picked up just two points in Group B as they drew with Egypt and Mozambique after losing their opening game against Cape Verde.
"Chris Hughton has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the senior national team with immediate effect," the Ghana Football Association said in a statement.
"The executive council has also taken a decision to dissolve the technical team of the Black Stars.
"The Ghana Football Association will in the coming days provide a roadmap on the future direction of the Black Stars.”
Ghana missed the chance to qualify for the last 16 when they conceded two injury-time goals to draw 2-2 with Mozambique in their final group game.
They still had a chance of going through as one of the four best third-place teams, but Cameroon beat Gambia to end their knockout hopes.
Former Newcastle United and Brighton boss Hughton was appointed Ghana head coach in February 2023.
Ghana topped their qualification group for AFCON but made a mixed start to World Cup 2026 qualifying under Hughton.
They needed a 96th-minute goal to beat Madagascar in their opening game and were then beaten 1-0 by Comoros.
Speaking after defeat to Mozambique at AFCON, Hughton said: “Things are very raw right now.
"It's an angry place at the moment, but when you are unable to see game through, it becomes very difficult. Our performances have not been good. We played three games, conceded two goals in each game and have ourselves in a difficult situation."
