Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has left AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan out of his squad for the 2018 World Cup finals.
The 30-year-old has been out of favour since Roberto Martinez took charge of the national team in 2016.
The former Everton manager replaced Marc Wilmots after an underwhelming performance at the European Championships and has led Belgium to this summer's World Cup with an unbeaten qualifying campaign.
However, Rajda Nainggolan has missed out on a place in Martinez's squad after failing to even be included in the provisional 23-man list.
The Roma midfielder announced his retirement from international football after being left out of the Belgium squad last September, but Roberto Martinez ignored his wishes and recalled him for the November friendlies.
Nainggolan was expected to return to the exciting Belgium squad for the World Cup after impressing with Champions League semi-finalists Roma throughout the season.
Roberto Martinez insisted that the decision was "tactical" despite rumours that it was more of a personal issue with Nainggolan's attitude.
The Spanish manager admitted he would be unable to allow Nainggolan to play the same advanced role that he plays at Roma.
Belgium join England in Group G at the World Cup this summer, alongside Panama and Tunisia.
The Red Devils will face England in the final group stage match on the 28th June.
