Arsenal defender Jen Beattie has claimed the Gunners can still win the Women’s Super League title following a 1-0 victory against Leicester City on Friday. The Gunners are in fourth place and six points adrift of leaders Manchester United, but Beattie - who scored in Arsenal’s Champions League semi-final defeat - is confident they can still upset the odds. "Why not? 100% we can do it."

'We need to be there' - Ten Hag stresses importance of CL qualification

Jen Beattie has claimed Arsenal can still “100%” win the Women’s Super League title following victory against Leicester City on Friday.
Frida Maanum scored the only goal of the game to earn the Gunners three points which helped close the gap on third-place Chelsea to two points, but Beattie and Arsenal are aiming higher than a top-three finish.
"100%, why not?" Beattie answered when asked if Arsenal are still contenders for the title.
"We showed against Wolfsburg what we can do in Europe and it is credit to the girls plugging through and getting results like tonight. 100% we can do it."
Katie McCabe, who has stepped in as Arsenal skipper following long-term injuries to captain Kim Little and vice-captain Leah Williamson, missed a first-half penalty as Jonas Eidevall's side endured a frustrating opening 45 minutes.
But Maanum’s stunning strike just after an hour put the Gunners in control against relegation-threatened Leicester as they managed to see out an important victory.
The result comes after Arsenal were outdone by Wolfsburg in extra time on Monday as they crashed out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage, and they are currently sitting outside the qualification places for next year’s competition.
The win against Leicester was the ideal response, boosting their Champions League qualification hopes for next season as well as their unlikely quest for WSL silverware this term.
Arsenal suffered another injury setback during the game against Wolfsburg as Laura Wienroither damaged her ACL - the fourth Gunners player to do so this season - and Beattie knows how much it would mean to deliver something special after a turbulent campaign for the club.
"It would mean everything,” Beattie told Sky Sports. "From what everyone's given throughout the season, the injuries we've had, the way we've rallied around each other as a team and a group.
"We know this team's got so much to give and I think winning the Conti Cup earlier in the season helped us massively.
"It would mean everything to the girls that are injured, the girls that are playing now and everyone behind the scenes."
