Leicester defender Ben Chilwell hailed the Foxes’ latest defensive display with the team yet to concede this year after beating Watford.
Claude Puel’s side kept a fifth straight clean sheet in the 2-0 win over the Hornets on Saturday.
Leicester’s resilience also cost Hornets boss Marco Silva his job after he was sacked by the club on Sunday following just one win in 11 games.
Jamie Vardy’s penalty and Riyad Mahrez’s stoppage-time strike earned the Foxes a deserved win and moved them up to seventh in the Premier League.
“Everyone’s buzzing and everyone’s happy,” Chilwell told LCFC TV. “We’ve got another clean sheet which is good, and that gives defenders and the goalkeeper confidence.
“More importantly, we defended as a team and we were good on the counter-attack today.
“It would have been nice to have been a bit more clinical and seen the game out, but everyone’s happy because we got a clean sheet and a 2-0 win.
“We said before that we want a lot of clean sheets. I think we set a target of getting six or seven, so we’re already on five (this year).
“It’s good stuff and hopefully we can keep it going. We want to keep it going and keep defending well as a team and hopefully get a lot more clean sheets this season.”
Vardy scored from the spot six minutes before half-time after former Leicester loanee Molla Wague fouled the striker in the area.
Mahrez added a second late on when he drilled into the bottom corner after a trademark run.
“Jamie’s really done well this year and he’s been massive for us,” added Chilwell.
“Obviously, him and Riyad have got a lot of goals this season and a lot of assists for us, which has been massive in the form we’ve had.
“The games that we’ve won have generally come down to those two scoring good goals. They’ve both been very key for us and Vardy is now on 10 league goals for us this season. It’s massive and hopefully he can keep it going.”
