Degen blow for Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund will be without Swiss international defender Philipp Degen for up to three weeks because of a thigh muscle tear, the club said on Wednesday.

Degen originally suffered the injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Arminia Bielefeld. He was passed fit to play in Tuesday's game against Alemannia Aachen but lasted just 22 minutes of the goalless draw.

Dortmund said in a statement that the player would need between two and three weeks to recover.
