Liverpool are preparing a move for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze, report German publication Bild.

Götze, who played under Reds manager Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund, has struggled to pin down a spot in the starting XI at Bayern since moving to the Allianz Arena in 2013.
The German international has a contract with Bayern until 2017 and the Bavarian club would demand a fee in the region of €50 million, claims Bild.
Liverpool have also been linked with move for Leverkusen’s Karim Bellarabi, and £37 million-rated Granit Xhaka of Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Götze to Liverpool could become interesting. “Bild” says Liverpool will have to pay more than 50 Million euros. Götze had never really made his breakthrough at Bayern. In 2013 he went to Bayern because of Guardiola. Under him he never became a regular player in the starting XI. In important games Götze found himself sitting on the bench.
But for sure he is not going to move anywhere in winter. A few days ago he said: “2016 will be an important year for me. I have big plans, with Bayern and the national team.” This was before Klopp was interested, though. Klopp was the man who made Götze the player he is today. He gave the youth player Götze a chance to make his first steps at professional level.
His contract at Bayern ends in 2017. If Bayern want to get any money for him, they need to sell him in summer.

It looks as though Klopp has identified midfield as the area in which he feels needs most attention. It makes sense that he would turn to the market he knows best, the Bundesliga.
Götze’s future will more than likely hinge on Carlo Ancelotti. If Ancelotti rates him, then he will more than likely stay. However, if Bayern want to get a sizable fee, they would have to consider selling this summer with his contract set to run out in 2017.
