Champions Bayern Munich slipped up in the Bundesliga title race on Saturday afternoon when they fell to a 3-2 defeat at Borussia Monchengladbach. They were not helped by an early red card for central defender Dayot Upamecano, and his in-demand compatriot Marcus Thuram scored the winning side's third goal. Elsewhere, RB Leipzig defeated Wolfsburg 3-0.

'There's still hope for PSG' - Mbappe optimistic despite defeat to Bayern

Borussia Monchengladbach secured a 3-2 win over Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich, who were down to 10 men after eight minutes.
Dayot Upamecano saw red after eight minutes for a professional foul, meaning he will miss the club’s next match against Union Berlin, who are one point behind the current champions with a game in hand. They play at home on Sunday against Schalke.
Lars Stindl opened the scoring for the home side after 13 minutes before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting levelled on 35 minutes.
Gladbach then added two more in the second half, through Jonas Hofmann and then Marcus Thuram, before Mathys Tel gave Bayern brief hope of securing at least a point when he pulled one back on 93 minutes.
Stuttgart were 3-0 winners against Koln, with Gil Dias, Borna Sosa and then Tanguy Coulibaly scoring for the home side. The win sees Stuttgart up into 14th place, with Koln mid-table in 11th.
Freiburg took all three points at Bochum when Michael Gregoritsch and Lucas Holer scored, and Anthony Losilla’s red card just after the hour mark gave the home side an insurmountable task. Bochum finished the game in 16th spot, as Freiburg keep up the hunt in a tight title race. They are fourth, three points behind Bayern.
Just beneath them are RB Leipzig, who trail them by a point in fifth spot. Emil Forsberg scored early before late contributions from Konrad Laimer and Dominik Szoboszlai secured a 3-0 win, leaving Wolfsburg in seventh.
Eintracht Frankfurt beat Werder Bremen with an own goal from Marco Friedl after seven minutes followed up by a second-half strike from France international Randal Kolo Muani. Eintracht sit sixth, and Werder 10th.
On Sunday, Borussia Dortmund play at home against Hertha Berlin, while Bayer Leverkusen face Mainz.
