Barcelona are hot favourites, but do Juventus have a realistic chance? We polled our team of writers to get their predictions for Saturday's showdown.

The Juventus defence is not to be underestimated, even against such a starry attack as Barcelona's. They will be cautious and suffocating at first and will probably hold out until half-time. But the loss of Giorgio Chiellini will be felt and on current form Messi only needs half a sniff for a goal. Once Juve go one behind they will open themselves up to the counter and that's when Barca will pounce again.

Juventus to sneak a win 1-0. Barcelona clearly have the superior individuals and particularly in attack. However, there remains a suspicion that Barca can be got at at the back despite their incredible defensive record this season. If Juventus sneak ahead, then fully expect them to close up shop like only an Italian team can. Barcelona have been imperious since the end of January but that does not mask the fact that this team has flaws – and Juve are exactly the type of side that can expose those flaws. The have some wonderfully gifted players – Paul Pogba, Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo to name three – but are also first and foremost a solid team.

There will be goals... but I expect them all to come from Barcelona. Juventus are being seen as the outstanding defensive team in this final but the truth is Barcelona are better in that department too. They’ve conceded just 21 goals in 38 La Liga games this season and 10 in 12 Champions League matches, peaking towards the end of the season. Their domination of the ball will restrict Juventus to occasional counter-attacks and the pressure will tell at the other when Messi, Suarez and Neymar inevitably find a way through. I would love it to be a close final but I really doubt it will be.
Dan Quarrell (@Dan_Eurosport) - 3-0 Barcelona
It’s very tempting to make a case for Juventus defying the odds against a rampant Barcelona, but then reality hits home. Juventus will still be in the game at 1-0 down at half-time, but Barcelona will have too much for the Italian side after the break and end up winning very comfortably. Even if Giorgio Chiellini was fit, Juventus would still endure a torrid evening up against Barcelona’s ruthless attack. Quite simply, Luis Enrique’s team have too many big-match players to be denied in the showcase final and Luis Suarez, in particular, is going to really show his class.

There’s not much justification for predicting a Juventus triumph other than this: it’s football, and very often weird stuff happens. The Champions League final has seen its share of muggings, and there’s no reason why this can’t play out like Chelsea’s preposterous win over a vastly superior Bayern Munich team three years ago. Might the rush to crown this Barcelona vintage – and above all Messi – the greatest of all time be a bit premature? Maybe, maybe not – but Juventus have certainly got enough about them to make this closer and more uncomfortable than many Barça fans expect.
Toby Keel - 0-0, Barcelona to win on penalties
Anyone who doubts Juve's ability to suck the life out of this match if they so choose hasn't been paying much attention to Italian football, or European finals, or indeed cup finals generally over the past few years. The only teams who get smashed to bits on big occasions are those who are (a) gung ho despite being a class below their opponents; and (b) so outclassed that when the goals start flying in they don't stop. Juventus fall into neither category: sure, if you were offered both managerial jobs you'd take Barca, but the Old Lady's run of titles is no accident. This is a team that knows how to win, and knows how not to lose. They'll keep it tight, keep a lid on the Barcelona front three, and make it to spot kicks. At which point, Barcelona's sense of moral indignation will inspire them to knock in every penalty, while Marc-Andre Ter Stegen - a fine stopper of penalties - will calmly stand dead still as Andea Pirlo Panenkas it straight into his hands to decide the trophy.
