Bayern Munich produced one of the great European comebacks as they roared back from two goals down to progress to the Champions League quarter-finals for the seventh time in eight years by beating Juventus 4-2 after extra time at the Allianz Arena to clinch a 6-4 aggregate victory.
After coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in Turin, Massimiliano Allegri’s stunned the German champions by taking a 2-0 goal lead in Bavaria, with Paul Pogba netting after just five minutes following mistakes from David Alaba and Manuel Neuer, before Juan Cuadrado curled home on 28 minutes after an Alvaro Morata-inspired counter-attack.
Juve defended well as Bayern laboured, but Robert Lewandowski finally pulled a goal back 17 minutes from the end following a fine cross from Douglas Costa, then La Vecchia Signora uncharacteristically conceded a second goal from a far-post cross as Thomas Muller pounced in injury time to set up extra time.
And the tie finally turned in the hosts' favour as substitute Thiago Alcantara slotted home from inside the box on 108 minutes, then two minutes later Kingsley Coman – on loan from Juve – ran half the length of the field before curling a shot around Gianluigi Buffon to wrap up the victory.

Talking Point - why is Kingsley Coman on loan at Bayern Munich?

Coman signed for Bayern Munich on a two-year loan from Juventus in August, with an option to buy at the end of it. Why? The 19-year-old came off the bench for Juve in the champions League final against Barcelona, so he is obviously thought highly of at the club.
He came on for Bayern tonight and transformed the match, setting up one goal and hitting the fourth with a run and a curled finish from his own half as Juve chased the match. He joins Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in joining the select group who helped eliminate their parent club from the Champions League. The Belgian was in the Atletico Madrid side that knocked out Chelsea in 2014.

MAN OF THE MATCH - Juan Cuadrado (Juventus)

The Colombia international failed to make his mark at Chelsea after signing for the Premier League side last February from Fiorentina, but moved to Juve on a season-long loan during the summer. The 27-year-old has impressed in La Vecchia Signora's recent Serie A run, but has flattered to deceive when making the step up to the Champions League.
But in his ninth Champions League match, he finally netted his first goal, and his pace and close control made a mug of a horribly off-form David Alaba down the Bayern Munich left. Juve boss Max Allegri took him off in the final minute of normal time as he looked to close out the game, but almost immediately regretted it as Muller levelled to send the tie into extra-time.

If he and Alvaro Morata had been on the pitch in extra-time, would Bayern have been quite so confident going forward in the extra 30 minutes?
