The Spain defender had a successful wrist operation after he was hit by flying glass caused by three explosions that shattered the windows of the vehicle as the team began their trip to the Westfalenstadion ahead of the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Monaco.
And he has allayed any further fears over his injuries by posting a picture of him smiling on Instagram with his right arm in a cast.
In his message he writes: "Hello everybody! As you can see I am doing much better.
"Thank you everybody for all your support and your messages! All my strength to my team mates, supporters and fans and to BVB for tonight's match! #HejaBVB."
The 26-year-old has been ruled out of the match, which was rescheduled for Wednesday night at 5.45pm amid tightened security, with German daily newspaper Bild claiming he will be out for the rest of the season.
Bartra's father, Jose, expects him to leave hospital in a few days. "We spoke yesterday after the operation and he told us he was fine," he said.
"The doctors had been through and said it was a clean break, that he didn't have anything in his arm and that he would be in the hospital for a few days and then he would be released to go home."
German authorities have arrested a suspected Islamist in connection with the attack and Ralf Jaeger, interior minister in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia which includes Dortmund, said the investigation was looking "in all directions".
It remains unclear if one or several attackers were involved but investigators have found three letters near the scene, all with the same content suggesting a possible Islamist motive.
