Paul Scholes has said he is "sad" about the acceptance he saw from the Manchester United fans during their Champions League defeat to Juventus.

With his side 10th in the Premier League table and having suffered a frustrating 1-0 defeat to the Italian giants courtesy of Paulo Dybala's goal, it is not fun right now for Jose Mourinho.
Scholes is not happy with the current performances being churned out by his former club, who are a full nine points off the pace domestically and not exactly setting the Champions League alight.
The United legend told BT Sport that he was "sad" that the fans at Old Trafford have become so accepting of the current situation with Mourinho still largely backed despite the poor results.
The sad thing is there feels like there is a bit of an acceptance to it really. Not just from United and from the players but I think from the fans also.
“I think it seems where we’re at at the minute there doesn’t seem to be an improvement in performance over the, what is it, into his (Jose Mourinho’s) third year now.
“You see Juventus, they look like a team who can go on to win the Champions League.
“And United, they’re going to have to improve massively to get anywhere near it.”
As for United's opponents Juventus, Scholes believes they are simply a "class above" Mourinho's side.
“They looked a team that have been playing together for some time,” he said.
“They have brought some new players into it but they were a class above.
“Technically, tactically, they were just a step above Manchester United today."
