Frank Lampard remains hopeful that Chelsea can produce a positive result agsinst Real Madrid in their Champions League semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge after losing the first leg 2-0. Goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio have put Real in control of the tie, but Lampard has called on his players to show belief and says that "special things can happen at Stamford Bridge".

Ancelotti laughs off rumours of Chelsea return, but 'sad' to see club struggling

Frank Lampard believes Chelsea can mount a comeback against Real Madrid after their 2-0 defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio scored either side of a Ben Chilwell red card in a one-sided first leg which leaves Chelsea needing to score at least two goals if they are to reach the Champions League semi-finals.
Lampard has overseen two losses as interim boss at Chelsea and his side are yet to score a goal since his return to the London club last week.
Nevertheless, the former Chelsea midfielder believes his side can produce the result they need to progress as "special things can happen at Stamford Bridge".
"I'm proud of the 10 men," Lampard told BT Sport.
"The disappointing thing is we give away a set piece and switch off.
"I don't think they carved us open at 10 men. That was due to spirit. We had our chances - Joao Felix, Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount.
"Some good things, but the result is the reality. Special things can happen at Stamford Bridge. We have to believe.
"There is a lot there for us, as good a team as they are.
"There's a bit of a lack of belief. The players don't know how good they are. There was some good in there. Next week will be a big fight."
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti insists the tie is far from over despite a commanding performance from his side.
"Don't forget that Chelsea are a good team with good players," the Italian said.
"We won 2-0 and took advantage of this game. It is not done yet. We need to fight and sacrifice at Stamford Bridge. This is normal, it is the quarter-final of the Champions League.
"We are satisfied for the game. It was a good game and we need to be ready for the next one.
"When we played against 10 men they put in a low block and it was not easy to find a solution. We spent a lot of energy in the game to press high.
"At the end, we were not so fresh to find a solution. But the result and performance were good.
"I know football really well. My players understand there is another 90 minutes to play. It will be difficult and we have to be ready."
Ancelotti managed Lampard at Chelsea and the pair won a Premier League and an FA Cup during their time together at Stamford Bridge.
The 63-year-old, who is looking to lead Real Madrid to their 15th European title, says Lampard will be a "fantastic" manager.
"I have good memories of Frank Lampard," he added.
"A fantastic player. I hope for them, he will be a fantastic manager. Not necessarily on Tuesday!"
The second leg takes place on Tuesday, April 18.
