The UEFA Champions League final is heading to Hungary for the first time. The Puskas Arena in Budapest has been confirmed as the venue for the match in 2026. UEFA’s Executive Committee met in Dublin ahead of the UEFA Europa League final to decide on the destination of a number of their European finals in the coming years, including the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2026.

The Puskas Arena in Budapest has been confirmed as the host venue for the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final.
It is the first time the climax of the European Cup will have taken place in Hungary.
The venue, which opened in 2019, can house up to 67,215 spectators.
It is no stranger to big matches, with three games at Euro 2020 taking place there, as well as last year’s UEFA Europa League final, which was won by Sevilla, who beat Roma on penalties.
UEFA’s Executive Committee met in Dublin this week to rubber stamp the decision.
They were also due to decide where the 2026/27 final would take place.
However, that decision has been postponed until later September this year, “subject to the Italian Football Federation submitting information on refurbishment plans for the San Siro stadium in Milan.”
The ExCo also announced that the 2025/26 UEFA Women’s Champions League final will take place in Norway for the first time.
The Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, home of Vålerenga, will host the match.
A new bidding process will then come into place for the 2026/27 final onwards, as “Germany has already been appointed for finals in 2026 and 2027, meaning the bid from Stuttgart could not be considered.”
Those matches are the UEFA Conference League final in 2026, which will take place at RB Leipzig’s RB Arena, while the 2027 UEFA Europa League is set to be at Frankfurt’s Stadion Frankfurt.
Meanwhile, Besiktas Park in Istanbul will be the destination for the 2026 Europa League and 2027 Conference League finals.
