Internazionale's veteran winger Luis Figo has rejected rumours that he is in talks with English Championship side QPR.
The former Portugal star is currently approaching the end of his contract at Internazionale and had been linked with a move to the West London glamour club.
"I am surprised by these stories," the winner of European and World Player of the Year awards in 2000 and 2001 told the Lusa news agency.
"It is not true that I am negotiating my arrival in England, as has been published in the press."
Rumours had circulated that the 35-year-old, who cancelled a proposed move to Qatar to remain with Serie A leaders and reigning champions Inter, was set to be the biggest-name addition to the revolution instigated by F1 moguls Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore.
Figo also confirmed that Portugal's Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has tried to persuade him to reverse his international retirement and return to the fold for Euro 2008 this summer - but claimed his decision after the 2006 World Cup.
"Those talks are private and not of interest to the public," he declared.
"I have decided on my exit at this time and I will not change."
