It ends Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea in the Community Shield, as Arsene Wenger records a first victory over Jose Mourinho at the 14th attempt. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the only goal of the game in the first half, but Arsenal's back five were on top form today at Wembley.

SAVE: Courtois blocks from Gibbs following a lovely threaded pass from Cazorla on the edge of the area.

Cazorla's free-kick hits the wall and the ball drifts out for a corner. Chelsea clear the corner easily.

Four minutes of additional time, as Cahill fouls Giroud deep in the Chelsea half.

Ivanovic is playing the centre-forward role now. Koscielny puts in a brave header to deny Zouma, then Arteta goes down under a second challenge.

A supposedly onside Ivanovic heads wide from Fabregas' floated free-kick from the left into the area. The Serb looked a long way off on the replay though.

A few frayed tempers as Gibbs pulls down Matic. The feisty Falcao is involved but referee Taylor decides not to show a card.

CHANCE: Courtois blocks Cazorla's dink, and Ramsey's follow up hits Matic and drifts out for a corner. Cazorla's set-piece is poor though and Courtois catches.

Courtois is able to grab onto the ball following Cazorla's corner and Koscielny's header towards the six-yard box.

Ivanovic puts Courtois in trouble with his backpass, and the Belgian miscontrols and concedes the corner.

Victor Moses replaces John Terry, while Kieran Gibbs comes on for Ozil. Chelsea will now play three at the back.

Oscar flicks on Zouma's cross from the left, but Monreal is able to bundle Falcao off the ball.

Oscar drifts into the box and beats Bellerin but Mertesacker clears under pressure from Hazard.

Hazard is soon up and into the box to await Fabregas' free-kick, which is very poor and cleared by the first defender.

A scream from Hazard following a challenge on Monreal - he seemed to stud his ankle in the tackle.

CHANCE: Oxlade-Chamberlain sees his shot deflect off Ivanovic but Courtois is well behind the ball. Mikel Arteta comes n to replace the OX now with 13 minutes remaining.

Cech really seems to have created a sense of calmness in the Arsenal defence.

CHANCE: Terry recycles the second ball at the far post and heads back for Zouma, but the substitute's header is easily caught by Cech.

Willian puts the ball in for Fabregas but Arsenal are able to put the ball out for a corner.

Ramsey finds Giroud but the Frenchman volleys over Courtois's crossbar.

Kurt Zouma replaces Azpilicueta as Arsenal then clear the corner.

SAVE: Cech awkwardly keeps out Hazard's floated free-kick towards his near post.

Coquelin gets a yellow card for a foul on the edge of the box on Hazard. That may be under the totting-up process rather than for the individual foul

CHANCE: Giroud at full stretch is only able to shoot over from the left channel with his first touch following a fine cross from the right

Olivier Giroud replaces Walcott up front for Arsenal/

Bellerin does well to clear a cross from Willian, then Azpilicueta gets a yellow card as he pulls down Oxlade-Chamberlain on the break.

Cazorla is sloppy with a pass down the left and Cahill can half clear.

Willian passes to Falcao down the right but he then fouls Monreal as the pair compete for the ball.

CHANCE: Fabregas threads the ball beautifully for Hazard down the right channel but the Belgian blasts the ball over the bar from 10 yards.

Falcao runs off the shoulder of Koscielny but the ball runs away from him. That was half a chance for Chelsea.

And now Fabregas one...

Ivanovic volleys the ball down the line to Fabregas, but the former Arsenal midfielder is offside this time.

Oscar cuts inside and sees the space open up from Falcao's unselfish run, but the Brazilian midfielder's shot is shanked and well wide of Cech's goal.

Monreal mishits a clearance down the left but the unflappable Cech is out to catch the ball easily.

Falcao is unable to control Willian's heavy pass and Arsenal are able to clear again at the back. Arsenal have looked quite impressive defensively today.

Oscar replaces Ramires for Chelsea, as the Premier League champions look for a bit more invention in midfield.

Coquelin's long pass from the centre circle is just to heavy for Ozil. Ozil is playing a more advanced role in this second half.

Ramsey finds Cazorla on the edge of the Chelsea box, but the Spaniard is just unable to thread the ball through to Ozil.

Ramires curls in a cross from the right but Koscielny is able to head clear the cross easily.

Falcao gets the ball on the left and gets to the left-hand side of the Arsenal area, but his shot is blocked and Fabregas cannot make anything of the rebound.

Ivanovic robs Walcott, and Ramires finds Willian down the right, but Cech is able to catch Willian's cross into the six-yard box easily.

Radamel Falcao replaces the disappointing Remy for Chelsea. Arsenal kick off the second half from right to left.

Half-time at Wembley, and FA Cup winners Arsenal lead league winners Chelsea 1-0 thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's fine goal midway through the half.

One minute of additional time at Wembley, as Koscielny cushions a cool defensive header back to Cech.

Coquelin goes through the back of Hazard and concedes the foul. Hazard's free-kick comes off Mertesacker's boot and the ball is gratefully fielded by cech.

Willian makes space down the left but then gives the ball away. Remy is then offside again from the breaking ball. That's poor from the Frenchman, who is making things very difficult for his midfield.

CHANCE: The Ox gets the ball down the right from Bellerin's pass and chips the ball up to the far post, but Ivanovic does well to clear under pressure from Monreal, who ends up fouling the Serb.

Ivanovic tries to thread a ball through but Coquelin makes a superb interception in the centre circle.

CHANCE: Ramsey drops the shoulder to make room down the left channel, but his first-time shot is into the side netting.

Cazorla shows great skill to refresh an attack with a volleyed pass - that was some technique from the Spaniard.

The camera cuts the be-tracksuited Mourinho, who shows Ramires how to do it by moving his head down in his recreation of what he should have done.

CHANCE: Remy is just onside down the left and pops the ball up for Ramires, who heads over from about six yards.

There doesn't seem to be much invention from Chelsea so far.

Apologies - we had technical issues there. You missed a half-chance for Ramires, but the Brazilian was unable to get his shot from outside the box to curl back enough towards goal.

Some headball in the box sees Arsenal clear through Walcott's run from deep, but Oxlade-Chamberlain then loses the ball to Azpilicueta down the right.

Remy is caught offside again for at least the third time in the opening 27 minutes of this match.

Koscielny wins the ball in the centre but then his pass is poor and Chelsea recover possession.

That is Arsenal's first goal in 507 minutes of football against Chelsea. The last was Theo Walcott's consolation in a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in January 2013.

GOAL: Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea. Ozil feeds Walcott inside, who sets up Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain down the right, and he cuts inside Azpilicueta before thumping a left-footed shot past Courtois and into the top corner.

CHANCE: Ozil's free-kick is flicked on by Walcott at the near post but his header is straight at Courtois.

Ramires again bundles Ozil to the floor. Ivanovic then concedes another foul by stepping on the heels of Cazorla down the left-hand side of the area.

Ivanovic tries to lob Cech from the halfway line as play resumes. Which was an odd choice, given Cech was standing on his six-yard line.

Ozil is also down and needing treatment.

Cahill has blood streaming from his nose after being bundled to the floor by Monreal earlier. He had a nose injury against Barcelona on Wednesday, so that is potentially troubling.

Ozil and Cazorla link up well down the left of the Chelsea box until the Spaniard is crowded off the ball when he comes into the penalty area.

Mertesacker heads clear a long ball towards Remy, and Arsenal have the ball back and can attack down the left.

High pressure up the pitch from Willian keeps Arsenal in their own corner. Good workrate from the Premier League champions. However, it is wasted then when Remy is caught offside in the next attack.

The pressure is coming from Chelsea now. The Blues win a corner down the right, which is headed clear at the near post.

Azpilicueta joins the attack down the left. The ball comes back inside but Fabregas cedes possession then concedes a foul.

Remy gets down the left and wins a corner off Bellerin. Taylor blows up as the corner from Fabregas comes in, for a push by Cahill at the near post.

No real fluency to the play so far. Cahill, I think, fails to find a blue shirt with a pass and puts it straight out of play.

Fabregas gets a touch on the ball before being bundled to the floor by Mertesacker in the area. The Arsenal fans do not seem very sympathetic.

More on that Mourinho wardrobe choice..

Coquelin is unhappy with referee Taylor after being penalised for a foul on Willian, and is lucky not to be shown a yellow for dissent.

Cazorla is limping after Ramires catches him on the ankle with his follow through on a tackle. The Spaniard is a key player for the Gunners, with eight goals and 15 assists last season in the Premier League.

Matic gets the ball and attacks Bellerin down the left, but the young defender does well to block the cross on the touchline.

Fabregas seems to be playing in the number 10 role, with Ramires joining Matic in the centre.

Ramires makes a run down the right but he is checked by Monreal. Boos from the Arsenal fans already for their former player Cesc Fabregas.

An early rush from Arsenal as Walcott nicks the ball from Matic in the centre circle, but Oxlade-Chamberlain is unable to test the Chelsea defence with his cross from the right.

Referee Anthony Taylor blows the whistle and Chelsea in blue kick off from right to left.

A standing ovation from the Chelsea fans as Cech runs towards them.

The last time a side that won the Community Shield went on to win the league title was Manchester United in 2010. However, the last two times Chelsea won the Community Shield, in 2005 and 2009, they won the Premier League the following year.

Interestingly, there were no big hugs for Cech from his former Chelsea team-mates in the tunnel. He kept looking for hands to shake in blue, and they didn't exactly rush to him

Out come the teams, behind their respective trophies and the Community Shield. Arsene Wenger is looking smart in a suit and tie. Mourinho seems to be wearing a Chelsea tracksuit - he looks like he should be watching the match in Wetherspoons.

Arsenal won last season's Community Shield, beating Manchester City 3-0 at Wembley, the only time in the last five years that the FA Cup winners have won the trophy.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "The result starts and ends today, but it doesn't have an effect on the season. But there is a trophy. A little trophy, but a trophy. Diego was not comfortable this morning and when a player is not comfortable, it is not good for him to play."

“He doesn’t take enough chances. He is conscious of it and wants to do it now, so I am confident in that. Although his main aspect will always be in the intelligence of his passing and his creativity, he can finish better and we want from him 10 goals this season.” Wenger said of Ozil.

Wenger says Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil reminds him of Dennis Bergkamp in the number 10 role, but has called on the German to add more goals to his game.

The Gunners are without forward Alexis Sanchez, who is on an extended break after helping Chile to Copa America success in July, while Danny Welbeck is still not fit following a knee injury. Hector Bellerin starts at right back, while Francis Coquelin will shield the back four. Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain make up the attacking three behind Walcott.

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech starts against his former side in his first competitive fixture since leaving Stamford Bridge this summer.

Diego Costa picked up the hamstring injury during Chelsea's pre-season friendly win over Barcelona on Wednesday, and manager Jose Mourinho has opted to rest the Spain international to ensure he is fit for the new Premier League season.

ARSENAL: Cech, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Kosceilny, Monreal, Coquelin, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Ramsey, Walcott.Subs: Martinez, Debuchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Arteta, Iwobi, Giroud.///CHELSEA: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Matic, Fabregas; Ramires, Willian, Hazard; Remy. Subs: Begovic, Zouma, Mikel, Oscar, Cuadrado, Moses, Falcao.

Arsenal have also gone for pace up front, with Theo Walcott the lone striker for the Gunners.

Chelsea are without striker Diego Costa, who has "a discomfort in his hamstring" according to manager Jose Mourinho. Loic Remy starts up front as the lone striker, with Ramires on the right and Willian in the hole behind Remy.
