'Argentina don't deserve Messi' says Lionel Messi's own brother

Ever since Messi and his international team-mates lost the Copa America final to Chile, the Barcelona forward has been the target for all sorts of abuse.

Diego Maradona was one of the most vocal critics, saying earlier in the week that Messi's flop for his country compared to his heroics for Barca means that "you're left saying to yourself, 'Are you Argentinian or Swedish?'".

Leo's brother Marias Messi has now hit back, however: "Leo's problem is that he's Argentinian," said Mattias on social media.

"Argentina don't deserve him," he added, before clarifying that his message was "for the losers" rather than those of his countrymen who have already defended Messi.
