The No 9 was responsible for over half of La Blaugrana’s output at Camp Nou as the side tore their opponents apart to leave them with one foot in the May showpiece, and he admitted there was little Los Che could do about the rout.
“I think we gave one of our most complete performances,” he said after the game.
“We played with attitude and intensity from the start and took a good lead.
“Obviously, you try everything possible to find the best move [for a goal]
“It was one of those days when everything I tried went in.
“I score to help the team win trophies, with a lot of goals if possible, but the most important thing is to keep this good run of form going, which is what we wanted after the Club World Cup.
“We knew that the first halves of our last few games weren’t good enough, and we tried to change it with attitude and effort.
“We were looking for Neymar because he’d missed a penalty. We wanted him to be happy, but he knows goals come in streaks and is happy for the team.
“[On whether the ‘MSN’ will be rested in the return leg], we’ll understand the Coach wants to rest us.
“It’s a pretty big lead, but you never know what can happen.
“[On Barca surpassing 100 goals], it’s to the credit of the entire team.”
