RE-LIVE: All Wednesday's Coppa Italia action
Marco Delvecchio scored a first-half hat-trick as Roma beat
Serie B club Vicenza 6-3 to set up a derby clash with Lazio in
the semi-finals, while Clarence Seedorf was on target twice for
Milan in their 5-2 win at Chievo.
Roma, who led 2-1 from last week's first leg, were at full
strength but suffered an early setback when Brazilian midfielder
Jeda fired Vicenza ahead on the night with a low drive in the
fifth minute.
Fabio Capello's side, struggling in mid-table in Serie A,
responded five minutes later when Cafu burst down the right
flank and crossed to Francesco Totti, who put in Delvecchio with
a neat back-heel and the Roma striker fired home.
Delvecchio then put Roma ahead on the night in the 21st
minute when he converted from another Cafu cross after Totti had
put the Brazilian wing back clear with a defence-splitting pass.
Totti was in inspired form and created Roma's third goal in
the 37th minute when his intelligent reverse pass gave
Delvecchio space on the left flank and the lanky forward cut
inside and completed his hat-trick with an accomplished finish.
Two minutes later Totti again exposed the gaps in the
Vicenza defence with a through ball to Emerson, which the
Brazilian midfielder took full advantage of with a confident
strike.
Vicenza pulled one back on the stroke of halftime when
Stefan Schwoch was brought down by Roma goalkeeper Francesco
Antonioli and the former Napoli forward rose to convert the spot
kick.

Cafu completed the rout, and an 8-4 aggregate victory, three
minutes from the end via the penalty spot.
Milan were ahead inside the first minute at Chievo's
Bentegodi stadium -- Georgian defender Kakha Kaladze hooking
home from close range after Chievo's former Milan striker,
German Oliver Bierhoff, made a hash of an attempt to head clear.
Dutch midfielder Seedorf doubled Milan's lead in the 43rd
minute, finishing off a swift counter-attack and on the stroke
of halftime Danish striker Jon Dahl Tomasson completed a flowing
10-pass move by converting a low cross from Cristian Brocchi.
Seedorf claimed his second and Milan's fourth in the 63rd
minute before Carlo Ancelotti's side eased off and allowed
Chievo to get a small foothold with a fine strike from Luigi
Beghetto.
Nine minutes from time Daniele Franceschini pulled another
one back for Verona with a fine volley from an Ivano Della Morte
cross, but there was still time for substitute Samuele Dalla
Bona to grab a fifth, from close range, for the Serie A leaders.
The result was Chievo's second heaviest loss inside a week
following their 4-1 league defeat at home to Juventus on Sunday
and confirmed Milan's strength in depth as Ancelotti was able to
watch the win with many of his key players resting.
Milan, who have reached the last four for the third
successive season, will meet Perugia or Juventus, who play on
Thursday with the champions trailing 2-1 from last week's game.
