A hat-trick from Samuel Eto'o helped Cameroon beat Angola 3-1 in the African Nations in Cairo on Saturday. Angola had equalised Eto'o's first strike through a Flavio penalty, but a great long-range effort sealed the group B win for the Indomitable Lions.

Angola had made some early chances, Akwa and Flavio impressing with Benfica star Pedro Mantorras surprisingly relegated to the bench, before Samuel Eto'o sent a sweet right-footed free-kick from the edge of the box into the top right of the goal.
It wasn't all plain sailing for Cameroon though, and Angola actually equalised through Flavio, coolly slotting home a penalty just after the half hour when suicidal defending by Rigobert Song forced goalkeeper Souleymane Hamidou to clatter Fabrice Akwa.
It didn't take the Indomitable Lions long to regain the lead though, Eto'o scoring again, this time ramming home a fierce header after great work from Rudolph Douala on the right.

Cameroon's nerves suitably calmed, they defended more solidly in the second half. Angola held out until Eto'o's superb strike on 79 minutes sealed the hat-trick, and never truly threatened Cameroon's goal.
Cameroon go top, with Togo facing DR Congo in the other Group B match later on Saturday.
