Liverpool's stuttering season continued after they conceded a late goal to draw 1-1 with Bordeaux in the Europa League.
The Reds took the lead through Adam Lallana's fine goal on 66 minutes which looked to have put them on course for victory in France.
But Willy Sagnol's side grabbed a point on 81 minutes when substitute Jussie lashed the ball into the corner from close range.
Despite fielding an inexperienced line-up with European debuts for Divock Origi and Jordan Rossiter, Brendan Rodgers' side will be disappointed to have come away with a point after Philipe Coutinho rattled the post in the first half and Danny Ings was denied by a good save.
Liverpool are next in Europa League action against FC Sion on October 1st.

KEY MOMENTS

4' - COUTINHO SHOT! Coutinho drills in a low shot from the edge of the box that whistles wide, Moreno was screaming for the ball as he was in acres of space.
11' - ROLAN EFFORT! The hosts go so close to scoring! A long ball finds Rolan who dinks the ball over the advancing Mignolet but the ball falls on to the roof of the net.
18' - KHAZRI GOES CLOSE! Ibe is caught ball napping, the ball is cut back and Khazri's curling effort goes inches wide of the goal from eight yards.

44' - KHAZRI CHANCE: Khazri controls the ball just past the halfway line and easily goes past three players but his shot from 15 yards is straight at the keeper
45' - WOODWORK! Coutinho rattles the post with a dipping effort from 25 yards, a fantastic pot shot.
57' - LALLANA SHOT! Lallana goes close after a neat turn and shot from close range at the near post after a good ball from Coutinho.
63' - GOOD SAVE: Great save from Mignolet to block Maurice-Belay's low drive after a cross was whipped in and Crivelli cannot divert in the rebound from close range.
66' - GOAL! Lallana nutmegs the defender after controlling the ball from a throw-in and curls the ball into the far corner from a tight angle, stunning goal.
73' - INGS EFFORT! Ings nearly makes an instant impact with a fierce effort towards the far corner which is beaten away.
81' - GOAL! Jussie lashes the ball into the corner past Mignolet from 14 yards after the Reds fail to clear the ball in the box.

KEY STATS

Liverpool have just one win from their last five matches.
Boredeaux have one victory in their last 11 games against English opposition, their only success coming over Newcastle United in 2012.

TALKING POINT

Did Brendan Rodgers get it wrong with his line-up? Liverpool made eight changes from the side that lost to Manchester United and few vindicated his selection. It was an inexperienced team with Divock Origi in particular looking lost. There was no Christian Benteke or James Milner in the squad but the decision to leave Roberto Firmino on the bench was a strange one. With a Champions League spot up for grabs for the winners and a chance to kickstart their season, a win would have been vital for the under-fire Liverpool boss.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Simon Mignolet (Liverpool): The Reds keeper just edges Adam Lallana after making a string of fine saves. He was not at fault for the goal after his defence failed to clear the ball. The Belgian may divide opinion but he was commanding and kept his side in the game, especially his save from Nicolas Maurice-Belay's effort.
