Europa League: Monaco surprise Bayer Leverkusen in playoff, Roma suffer late defeat at RB Salzburg

Serie A side Juventus were frustrated at home by Nantes, while in Germany, another Ligue 1 side sprang a surprise as Monaco beat Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen in their Europa League match-up. RB Salzburg pulled off a late win at home against Jose Mourinho's Roma side, and there was a convincing result for Fiorentina, who secured a 4-0 win in the Europa Conference League against Braga.

Monaco beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-2 in the first leg of their Europa League playoff thanks to a 92nd-minute winner, while Juventus were held by Nantes and Roma lost at RB Salzburg.
Xabi Alonso saw his Leverkusen side go behind to an early Lukas Hradecky own goal, before two second-half strikes from Moussa Diaby and then Florian Wirtz appeared to set the hosts up for a comeback victory.
However, a late goal from Krepin Diatta was followed by an injury-time winner from Axel Disasi to give the Ligue 1 outfit their own successful comeback.
