England face a tricky Euro 2025 qualifying group if they are to reach Switzerland and defend their crown.
The reigning European Champions face France, Sweden and Republic of Ireland in their League A3 group following the draw in Nyon.
Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses famously lifted the trophy following a dramatic 2-1 win over Germany at Wembley in 2022 and will be among the favourites to repeat that success.
However, they will need to finish in the top two positions in their qualifying group to reach the tournament or risk having to tackle the playoffs in order to advance.
They will be up against France who reached the semi-finals last time out in England and recently lost in the final of the Nations League to world champions Spain.
Sweden, who are back to back World Cup bronze medallists and Olympic runners up will also provide a stern test as will an ever-improving
Republic of Ireland make up the final member of the group and they reached their first ever major tournament at last year’s World Cup.
Elsewhere, Spain will face Denmark, Belgium, Czechia in their League A group, Scotland have been drawn against Serbia, Slovakia and Israel, while Northern Ireland will be up against Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Malta in League B.

How does qualification work?

In total, 51 teams will aim to qualify for the final tournament in Switzerland in 2025.
Based on their positions in the 2023-24 UEFA Nations League, teams are put into three leagues, A, B and C.
Leagues A and B each consist of 16 teams drawn into four groups of four, while League C features 19 teams which are drawn into four groups of four and one group of three.
Each team plays every team in their group of four twice over six matchdays during this stage. The top two teams in each League A group will advance to the final tournament.
Playoff round
The playoffs will consist of two paths. The first path will involve the eight teams who finish third and fourth in League A as seeds, drawn against the five League C group winners and three best runners-up.
The eight winners will advance to the next round.
The second path sees the total 12 teams who finish top three in each League B* group advancing to the playoffs where they will face off, with the six winning teams going through.
*Tournament hosts Switzerland are competing in League B and qualify automatically so if they finish in the top three of their group, their playoff spot goes to the best fourth place League B side.
The 14 total winners from both paths then play in a second round of playoffs with the seven winners of these ties advancing to the final tournament.
