FIFA president Gianni Infantino says new African Football League will ‘change landscape of African football’

FIFA president Gianni Infantino was present for the launch of the African Football League in Tanzania. A 2-2 draw between Simba Sports Club and Egyptian outfit Al Ahly opened the new competition, which features eight teams this year but will increase to 24 from 2024. The event will run alongside the CAF Champions League and Infantino says it will “change the landscape of African football."
