Hazard 'offered £20m a year by Real'

Eden Hazard has been offered a huge deal by Real Madrid, Spurs need to make a decision over Christian Eriksen, Manchester United need to pay off their stars, and Mo Farah is at the heart of another controversy.
Hazard offered huge Real deal
Chelsea forward Eden Hazard will be offered £400,000 a week after tax to join Real Madrid, according to the Sun. The 28-year-old Belgian international would be paid £20 million a year, plus bonuses, if he leaves Chelsea for Real this summer. His current club want around £100 million for the player, and his proposed new club would put in a buyout clause of £250 million.
Paper Round's view: Hazard is probably the only player with the talent to move in to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, even if the move is at least one season too late. That causes a problem for Chelsea, who may well have to contend with a transfer ban for the summer, and Callum Hudson-Odoi could be out for more than four months after an achilles problem.
Spurs face Eriksen conundrum
Tottenham Hotspur face a difficult decision as Christian Eriksen weighs up his future, reports the Sun. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy must decide if he will sell the 27-year-old Danish international this summer in order to raise funds as his contract runs out at the end of next season. Real Madrid and Inter Milan are both interested in recruiting Eriksen, and the London club could have to offer £200,000 in order to keep him.
Paper Round's view: With another season of Champions League football and a new, larger ground to increase ticket revenue, on the surface if would appear that Spurs can well afford to keep Eriksen on higher wages, and there would be no shortage of takers for Eriksen next season if he continued to improve. However, given his age, taking almost £100 million for him now could allow Maurcio Pochettino to improve more than a couple of positions in the squad.
Unifed to pay Sanchez to leave
Back to the Sun, who claim that Manchester United are preparing to find the money to pay off some of their highest earners this summer. That includes Aleis Sanchez and Marcos Rojo, who can bring in around £700,000 a week together. There is some interest in Rojo, who could fetch around £15 million pounds assuming he can be convinced to leave.
Paper Round's view: Rojo is just one example of a middling player who has been kept on by Ed Woodward on huge wages so that he is not let go for nothing, despite offering little to the first team. Chris Smalling is another, and these players prevented successive managers from bringing in top quality players and suffering the results on the pitch as a result. The costs to the club may yet to fully materialise.
Farah in row with Gebrselassie
Away from football, the Daily Mail reports on a huge row in the world of long-distance running. After Mo Farah claimed that he had been robbed in a hotel owned by Haile Gebreselassie of a watch, two phones and cash, and said that Gebreselassie had not contacted him over the incidents, the Ethiopian legend said there were ‘multiple reports of disgraceful conduct, which was not expected from a person of his calibre, and his entourage during his stay, by hotel staff.'
Paper Round's view: It would be foolish to claim certainty over the events that have only recently been alleged, but it threatens to overshadow Farah's preparations for the London marathon. Farah will need to maintain his focus on the matter at hand, which will have only become harder now.
