Australia and Argentina have agreed to postpone their scheduled June 6 friendly international in Melbourne, Football Federation Australia said on Friday.
Argentina asked to reschedule the match because they were concerned about being able to field a full-strength team.
"We have been in discussions with the Argentinean Football Association .... and we agreed it would be in the best interests of both teams and Australian football supporters to postpone the match to later this year," FFA Chief Executive Officer Ben Buckley said in a statement.
"We share our fans disappointment about rescheduling the match, but we hope that they will accept that a postponement was necessary so that we will see a full-strength Argentina."
Buckley said Australia were unlikely to arrange another friendly, so the game against Uruguay in Sydney on June 2 will be the Socceroos' last on home soil before the Asian Cup in July.
They also play Singapore on June 30.
