Robbie Brady netted twice, as Ireland convincingly brushed aside the United States in Tuesday's international friendly at Aviva Stadium.
Both sides put out second-string sides, with Ireland making eleven changes from the team that started Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier defeat to Scotland in Glasgow, but it was Martin O'Neill's side that settled quicker, with Anthony Pilkington opening the scoring after seven minutes with a deft finish from David McGoldrick's cross.
Jurgen Klinsmann's side played the more fluent football as the half went on, and deservedly levelled six minutes before the break through Mix Diskerud.
Ireland were dominant in the second half, with Brady netting twice and James McClean scoring a deflected effort as O'Neill's understudies shone.\
Brady received the man-of-the-match award from the sponsors, but O'Neill will have also noted impressive debuts from Derby County's Cyrus Christie at right-back and Ipswich Town striker McGoldrick.
KEY MOMENTS
16' - GOAL! Ireland 1-0 USA. Ireland break quickly and McGoldrick slips the ball through for Pilkington to dink the ball over Bill Hamid in the USA goal with a deft finish.
20' – WOODWORK! The corner is rolled to Johnson 25 yards out, and the Borussia Monchengladbach defender hits the outside of the post with his effort.
27' - GOOD SAVE! Hamid blocks Murphy's effort from close range, after McGoldrick had set up his Ipswich team-mate on the edge of the area.
39' – GOAL!Ireland 1-1 USA. Mix Diskerud pokes home after Chris Wondolowski cushion heads down Altidore's cross after Meyler gave the ball away in midfield.

44' – SAVE!Given makes an awkward save with his feet from Altidore's effort from 25 yards.
55'- GOAL!Ireland 2-1 USA. Quinn wins the ball off Johnson by the corner flag, and McGoldrick plays in Brady to finish coolly past Hamid.

80' - WOODWORK! Long takes on the full-back down the left and gets into the box but his effort hits the post.
81' - GOAL! Ireland 3-1 USA.The ball drops to McClean on the left-hand edge of the area, and the Wigan midfielder's shot clips Cameron and deflects past Hamid.

KEY STATS
The USA have now failed to win in four matches since the World Cup in Brazil. They drew 1-1 with Ecuador and 1-1 with Honduras last month and lost 2-1 to Colombia at Craven Cottage on Friday before tonight's 4-1 defeat in front of 33,332 fans at the Aviva Stadium.
This match was the ninth between the sides, and the first since April 2002. Ireland hold the edge in the all-time series with five wins. USA have won twice, with a further two draws.
TALKING POINT
Does Shay Given have an Ireland future? Given is 38 and has already retired from international football once, after Ireland's woeful Euro 2012 final campaign. But the Aston Villa goalkeeper decided to come back to the international fold in August after a two-year absence, and he pulled off two top-drawer saves against United States. The match may make uncomfortable viewing for first-choice goalkeeper David Forde.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Cyrus Christie (Republic of Ireland) Robbie Brady was awarded the sponsors' prize, but the Hull City utility man struggled in his defensive duties and was rather shown up by the debutant on the other flank. The Derby County full-back looked calm defensively, and was positively Seamus Coleman-esque when he crossed the halfway line.
