Japan legend Shinji Ono receives standing ovation as he plays final game aged 44
Japanese football legend Shinji Ono finally called time on an epic 26-year long career in the J-League by facing his first club Urawa Reds for Sapporo aged 44 in the final game of the season. Ono was replaced midway through the first half to a huge standing ovation as Japanese football fans said goodbye to one of their greats. Ono earned 56 Japan caps and went to the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
