The 24-year-old Brazilian has been linked with moves to both Real Zaragoza and European champions Milan, though Motta regards the fact he is now known as being for sale as a disadvantage in contract negotiations.
"I am surprised that Txiki has said publicly that they do not want me," he said.
"That only obstructs my ability to negotiate with other clubs. Milan and Zaragoza are great clubs and it is obvious that I cannot discard either.
"I have come to the conclusion, however, that I want to be given a free transfer to allow me to search for a new club.
"At the moment I have talked with Barça once and there has been no news and I have to resolve things with Txiki and then I can talk to other clubs."
