Real Zaragoza paid a heavy price for their poor away form this season as they were relegated following a 3-2 defeat to Real Mallorca who, despite winning, missed out on qualification for the UEFA Cup due to results elsewhere.

Zaragoza joined the already-relegated Real Murcia and Levante after having lost 13 away games this campaign and managing just one victory.
The result rendered Recreativo and Valladolid's 1-1 draw meaningless as Zaragoza had to win to stand any chance of staying up at their rivals' expense.
Osasuna joined Recre and Valladolid in preserving their top flight status despite a 1-0 reverse to Racing Santander, who claimed the final UEFA Cup spot thanks to a late goal from Ivan Bolado.
Mallorca had to settle for seventh and a place in this summer's InterToto Cup.
Kick-offs in all three games were delayed by an hour after torrential rain on Mallorca had left the pitch in a waterlogged condition. To avoid any unfair advantage, the games in Huelva and Santander were also put back so all three games could start at the same time.
The usually sun-kissed island may not be accustomed to such soggy conditions, but Mallorca did not let it affect their game.
The identity of their first goalscorer came as no surprise - it was Daniel Guiza's 27th goal of what has been a superb individual season. Unfortunately for Mallorca fans, they may not see the highly-rated marksman play in their colours again with Barcelona, Valencia and Milan reportedly circling with summer bids.
The Euro 2008-bound Spain striker controlled a chipped ball forward on his chest on 14 minutes before turning and, with Sergio Fernandez in a prone position having slipped on the greasy turf, he fired home via a slight deflection off the defender's leg.
Zaragoza fought back, Ricardo Oliveira grabbing an equaliser after the break - the Brazilian timed his run into the box perfectly to head home Gabi's well-delivered cross on 55 minutes. At the time, the goal - with Recre losing - appeared to be enough for his side to stay up.
But nine minutes later the hosts regained the lead, Pierre Webo, who had been booked for diving in the first minute, rising to meet Juan Arango's cross after Zaragoza keeper Cesar Sanchez had played Fernandez into real trouble.
In a way, Zaragoza had been the architects of their own destruction and they allowed their heads to drop as the second half progressed, appearing to accept relegation when they should have been pressing for an equaliser.
Two almost identical close range goals in injury time - one for Mallorca substitute Chori Castro and a second for Webo - did little to alter Zaragoza's fate, who must now contemplate life outside the top flight.
In the evening, Champions Real Madrid hammered relegated Levante 5-2 at the Bernabeu with two apiece for Ruud van Nistelrooy and Sergio Ramos. Alexandre Geijo bagged both goals for the league's bottom club.
Fifth-placed Sevilla join Racing in the UEFA Cup after they thumped Athletic Bilbao 4-1 at home.
Almeria beat Espanyol 3-1 to take eighth place on 52 points just ahead of Deportivo la Coruna who lost 2-0 at home to Villarreal.
Getafe drew 1-1 with Real Betis while Valencia ended a turbulent season on a high by winning 3-1 against Atletico Madrid, who had already secured Champions League football.
